Burt Hamrell is an emeritus in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Vermont Medical school where he spent 30 years in research on the physiology and pathophysiology of heart muscle mechanics and in teaching cardiovascular physiology to medical and allied health students. He also was director of the medical physiology course at Vermont. He continues to be invited to teach medical students cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology. He uses his combined background in internal medicine and cardiology and in cardiovascular physiology to enliven his teaching and ensure students understand the relevance of what they are learning. He develops unique electronic learning modules to enable active learning for students he teaches. These e-resources are now available as part of the book described here.
